Finger print 5 is a unique and lively band which started their success at a very young age. The founder and the lead singer of the finger print 5 band is a former Journalism student at the Tshwane University of Technology. Nkamogeleng Lebeloane had love for music from a young age but she developed her idea of finger print 5 after she matriculated.
She said that she expresses herself well through music and this shows how well she’s connected to the music world. One of the challenges that she faced when she started Finger print 5 was that when she approached people and they responded negatively towards her because she was young and that could be discouraging at times but being a patient woman that she is, she did not give up. As time went by, she approached more people and they came through.
A finger print is not something that is shared and it is very distinctive so with this being said, it means that their band is unique and they are 5 in their band. This is why she said that it is Finger print 5. Yes, they are tight like that.
She met Bongani (the guitarist) at a show in the theatre, Gina and she were competing in a singing competition and she loved her voice so she approached her. She met Moshe in a gig and he jammed to their sound and he joined the band. Then Bongani recommended Shona. This is how Finger print 5 met.
They have performed in many places and obviously there must be certain performances that highlighted their careers. They performed at the Fetedela Musique in New town baseline which is one of the top music festivals in South Africa. They also performed in SA Fm, eTV Sunrise and were also featured on Daily Sun.
“It is when your soul is in peace”, that’s how Miss Nkamogeleng defines success. Not only does she want her band to succeed but she wants the band to have a purpose to send a proper strong message that can change people’s lives. She also mentioned that people always turn to forget why they wanted to succeed from the place and that she plans to not forget why she started this band from the first place.
In closing words she said that if you have a passion and patience for something that you want to do then that’s the key to your success.
